How much lift do Pedders kits add?
While most Pedders 4x4 suspension kits provide a standard 40mm to 50mm lift to improve ground clearance and stance, Pedders also manufactures direct OE-replacement kits designed to match standard factory ride height
Will a lift kit affect my MOT or ride comfort?
A correctly fitted kit of this size isn't an MOT problem — the test looks at condition and function, not ride height. Ride comfort usually improves over worn factory suspension; heavy-duty kits do ride firmer unloaded, which is why we'd point you at the standard kit if your truck runs empty most of the week. As with any modification, it's worth letting your insurer know.
Do I need a wheel alignment after fitting?
Yes, always. Changing any suspension component changes the geometry of the vehicle, so book a full alignment straight after fitting to protect tyre wear, keep the steering true and avoid any poor handling issues.
What's the difference between standard and heavy-duty kits?
Spring rates and damping. Standard kits suit unloaded or lightly loaded trucks and prioritise ride comfort. Heavy-duty (and extra-heavy-duty) kits are built for constant load. Think canopies, roof tents, winch bumpers, drawers, tools - and for towing. If the weight lives in the truck full-time, go heavy-duty.
